Elon Musk has hesitantly admitted that Donald Trump was better for Tesla than Joe Biden

In the 2020 elections, Democrats won both houses of Congress and the presidency. At the time, the most vocal party about climate change taking power was thought to be favorable to Tesla since the EV maker is the leading producer of sustainable products.

However, the relationship between Tesla and the new management was not smooth at all. Initial fissures between Tesla and the Democrats began to emerge after Tesla was excluded from the Electric Vehicle Summit held at the White House.

At that time, among those present at the EV summit were executives from General Motors, Ford and United Auto Workers, as well as Stellantis, the company formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler and France’s PSA. During the summit, President Biden congratulated General Motors CEO Mary Barra on his leadership in the transition to electric vehicles.

To highlight the absurdity of this statement, in the first three months of 2022, General Motors delivered only 457 electric vehicles worldwide. By comparison, in the same time frame, Tesla has delivered more than 300,000 electric vehicles and made up more than 70% of electric vehicles sold in the United States.

After disdain for Tesla, relations between the electric car maker and Democrats fell even further, as Democrats in Congress introduced a new incentive bill for electric cars.

According to the new bill, Tesla buyers will get a $8,000 federal EV stimulus while Ford and GM will get an additional $4,000 to build their electric vehicles in union factories.

However, the worst escalation between Democrats and Elon Musk/Tesla came after Musk announced his intention to buy Twitter and restore freedom of expression on the social media platform.

After Musk’s announcement, Democrats’ attacks on the billionaire began to escalate. Musk was charged last week with sexual misconduct, which the Tesla CEO called a political attack by Democrats.

After Musk’s accusation, I covered a story regarding Tesla’s shady big bet that made a profit of 1,400% in one day.

And a few days ago, in a further escalation of the dispute, Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was described by Elon Musk as a puppet after she announced that she wanted to replace her Model 3 with a Union electric car.

Now Musk says Donald Trump was better for Tesla and his other SpaceX venture than the current administration. Musk’s statement came after a tweet on Twitter that began with a user accusing Musk of not caring about freedom of expression or else he would not support Donald Trump.

In his first response, Musk said, “I support free speech, but not any one candidate. In fact, I gave money and voted for Hillary and then voted for Biden. However, due to the unprovoked attacks by prominent Democrats against me and a very cold shoulder toward Tesla & SpaceX I plan to vote Republican in November.”

Musk then continued his tweet by saying that the Republican vote will only be for the upcoming midterm elections as there is no chance for any third party to win Congress.

Finally asked if Trump is a relative supporter of Tesla and SpaceX Musk, he replied “Yes, although I hesitate to admit it, because there are a lot of people who get mouth-fed even if you mention his name!”

In the face of this, Musk’s alliance with Trump seems unlikely. During his administration, Trump has been a staunch supporter of new coal and oil exploration. However, in an interview, Trump called Musk one of America’s geniuses and that he should be protected.

Given the difference in attitudes between Trump and Democrats toward Musk, it’s not at all surprising why the Tesla CEO thinks the former president is better for his projects.

As of now, Musk’s feud with Democrats shows no signs of abating. However, we’ll make sure to keep you informed as the story continues. Until then, be sure to visit our torquenews.com/Tesla site regularly for the latest updates.
