AOC has announced plans to ditch its Tesla, weeks after telling Elon Musk to stop flirting with him on Twitter.
Green New Deal supporter Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 32, told Bloomberg in an interview on Wednesday that she wants to switch to an electronic car made locally by union workers.
Currently, the only vehicles you can consider are Ford’s massive F-150 Lightning truck, which will be launched later this year, or the Chevy Bolt.
The Democrat told the network it bought its Model 3 in 2020 around the time Covid-19 started.
AOC said it’s the only electric vehicle that can take it from the Bronx Queens area to the nation’s capital on one and a half times a charge.
The AOC said it bought a Tesla Model 3 to drive from New York City to Washington, D.C. at the start of the COVID pandemic
AOC said the $35,000 car they bought was because it’s the only electric vehicle that can drive on less than two charges.

Now the proud member of the team says, “I’d like to switch.”
AOC claimed it was because it wanted to support a factory with a union production line, but its timing raised questions.
Just a few weeks ago, Musk jokingly asked her to stop flirting with him after she took to Twitter to reprimand him about the billionaire’s planned purchase of the social network.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that a $35,000 Tesla with New York plates and a Congressional parking card is photographed in a no-parking area near the luxury AOC apartment in D.C. on May 14, 2021.
Sources told Free Beacon that AOC was seen driving a white Tesla in the neighborhood.
AOC caught the attention of Tesla CEO Elon Musk with this tweet last month
Musk replied in a joking manner. In April 2022, AOC announced their engagement to longtime boyfriend Riley Roberts

When Musk was asked about the Tesla CEO’s recent announcement that he will vote Republican from now on after he previously voted Democrat, the AOC said: ‘He’s a billionaire. I don’t care what he thinks.
Musk’s multi-billion dollar acquisition of Twitter has been put on hold, while a South African is investigating reports of the company’s users.
In April, when the AOC tweeted about a “billionaire with an ego problem,” Musk responded to her message with a joke, saying, “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy.”
AOC engaged its long-term partner, web developer Riley Roberts, in Puerto Rico in April 2022.
The banter continued with AOC in a later screenshot of her tweet about Musk having an ego problem, and he wrote in that message: Like I said, ego problems.
AOC justified deleting a tweet that joked about Musk’s vanity

Musk, whose Twitter acquisition is currently on hold, recently dropped his fortune to less than $200 billion.
When asked why she deleted the original tweet, the AOC said, “I try to avoid giving people with huge ego complexes such the attention and QTs/replies that they crave and look for (when I can help).”
While posting her Instagram story, the AOC posted a screenshot from the “ego problem” tweet with the caption: “If he’s looking for something to do, he can pay taxes.”
Musk said in December 2021 that he would pay more than $11 billion in taxes.
According to Bloomberg, other Democrats who own Tesla cars are Adam Schiff of California, David Cislin of Rhode Island, Lisa Blunt of Rochester, and Tom Malinowski of New Jersey.
Another owner is Tom Carper, chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
On the other side of the lane, Republican Congressman Thomas Massey of Kentucky owns a Tesla that he modified with a “Friends of Coal” license plate.
He told Bloomberg: This isn’t a car company, it’s a battery company. The car is just their first killer app.
This is a fake tweet about electric cars that AOC was accused of sending in 2019
In 2019, before she bought a Tesla, a fake tweet from the AOC went viral while Hurricane Dorian was raging across Florida.
The fake message read: “I see people rushing to fill up their cars because of this hurricane at the gas station. That wouldn’t be a problem if they had electric cars. If the power goes out for a week, how will they get gas? We need to start planning ahead and moving on.” ahead.
According to Snopes: “The tweet was just a concocted fork intended to make Ocasio-Cortez look foolish.”
