The following classifications are used by professionnels to designate the numerous darkeness of roasts:

Light :

Cinammon, New England, Light

Medium :

American, Medium Brown, Brown

Medium Dark :

Full City, Vienna

Dark :

Italian, Espresso, European

Darker :

Espresso, Italian, Continental

Very Dark :

French, Dark French, Italian
