Annual Halloween Brunch : Berendo was proud to sponsor the Espresso, Latte, and Cappucino at the Club’s Halloween Brunch. We used « The Berendo Beans » for the event. 200 members and family showed up for a wonderful meal from the kitchen of Excutive Chef Jacques Pelland and staff. We served over 80 lattes, cappuccinos and espressos from our Saeco Royal Bar. The outcome was extremely positive and several commented on the taste and the crema of our espresso. Some members asked if we could repeat the event next year at the Club’s 100th Anniversary. The club was founded in 1910.
Trivia
This is the Country Club where «Taking a Mulligan » was first introduced. The Mulligan owes its name to David Mulligan. David Mulligan was a member at the Country Club back in the 1920s.

Berendo is constantly looking for unique products and we are now proud to offer you the Northern Delights herbal teas. Our goal always is to provide high quality products while respecting our main objective in associating ourselves with people and/or organizations who like us have a goal of respecting the environment and helping out the community. Avatag does just that ! These herbal teas are made entirely from the flora of the Nunavik region. These fine teas come in 5 flavors for you to discover and appreciate.
Northern Delights is an initiative of Avataq Cultural Institute. Avataq is a non-profit organization, created in 1980, dedicated to the protection and advancement of the language and culture of the Inuit of Nunavik (Northern Quebec). Avataq’s headquarters are located in Inukjuak, in Nunavik, and its administrative office is in Montreal. Avataq receives its operating mandate from the Inuit Elders Conference of Nunavik. Every two years, the Elders elect five Inuit to make up Avataq’s Board of Directors.
Avataq operates a range of linguistic, heritage and cultural programmes designed to preserve and strengthen Inuit culture for the benefit of this and future generations. Today, Avataq speaks for Nunavik culture to the rest of Canada and abroad.
In addition to being a source of pride for the Inuit community, Northern Delights is an important source of revenue for Avataq’s programmes. Nunavimmiut (people of Nunavik) are employed in all phases of the tea project, which serves to promote Inuit culture to the four corners of the world and helps finance the efforts of Elders to pass their culture on to Inuit youth. Before the project was launched, we carried out environmental impact studies and consulted the communities of Nunavik to make sure that our tea project would reflect Inuit values. Northern Delights is one way for the Inuit to profit from the flora of their region, while sharing a part of their unique cultural heritage.

The Canadian Coffee & Tea Show will be held in Vancouver this year. This Show gives the opportunity for all people from the coffee industry, such as roasters, restauranteurs, distributors and specialized retailers to learn more about new products on the market. The Show was held in Montreal last year and didn’t get the success that it deserved. We hope that the Show will come back to Montreal in the future.
The Show will host the Canadian Barista Championship. This event gives the opportunity to the best Baristas in the country to measure themselves in a fair competition. They need to prepare in 15 minutes: 4 espressos, 4 cappuccinos and 4 «signature» drinks of their own creation. This competition is really interesting to follow.
We invite you to consult the following link for additional information on this competition.
