Our mission

Berendo’s mission is to offer the best premium coffee to our clients. All our coffees are Fair Trade, Organic and 100 % Responsible. Freshly roasted, we guarantee  a superior cup  each and every time.

Berendo is concerned with the environment and supports the commerce of Fair Trade as it assures us that the growers get their fair share of revenues.

In this manner, Berendo aims to offer our clients and partners a quality service which is synonymous with the quality of our coffee. Professionalism, respect, transparency are the values that drive the work day at Berendo.

Our social values go beyond the very best Fair Trade and Organic coffee.  One of our underlying objectives is to help the people around us in various ways, such as causes for children and the fight against cancer.

Berendo continues to contribute part of their revenue to Operation Enfant Soleil.

Again for Christmas 2009, we continued to support Operation Enfant Soleil and the Breast Cancer Foundation. A portion of our revenue will be divided equally between the two organizations.

Business profile

Berendo  is a business located in Ahuntsic. The owners, Lyse and Nathalie, share a duel passion: premium coffee and outdoor activities. These two nature enthusiasts have a healthy respect for the environment and “walk the talk”. They already recycle all their coffee compost with a local school for Horticulture.

To meet their social and environmental objectives, Berendo helps out the coffee and sugar growers of under-developed countries by committing to using Fair Trade, Organic and Rainforest alliance products.

Our interest is to be associated only with people who share a passion for their coffees;   espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos. We spend a tremendous amount of time working with our current clients and future potential clients. We work with personnel from all areas within the company, from the executive level to the cafeteria staff. We do not impose our ways and will work with our clients to custom-build our offers to meet their  needs. We also strive to discover new ways and innovate as we go along.

For our espressos we work with fine espresso machines such as: Saecos, Simonellis ( espresso machines used for the Regional, National, and International Barista Championships), and Frankes. As for regular coffee we use the Newco products.

Our roaster

After careful researching and rigorous testing of several roasters over more than three months, we selected Le Transit as our chosen roaster of Fair Trade and Organic coffee.  Other than having to be a Fair Trade and Organic roaster, our criteria were quite simple: to serve our clients with the very best cups of expresso, cappuccino, lattes, etc. at all times with consistency in quality and service.

We are proud to be partners and associated with Le Transit “les services adaptes”, a socially responsible company. Their mission is to plan, develop and manage commercial activities that create employment for intellectually and physically challenged people while respecting the highest standard in the coffee roasting business today. They are regulated under the ISO standards.
