Guatemala
Most coffee farms in Guatemala have applied clean production techniques such as: ecological wet mills that recycle water; usage of sedimentation tanks to prevent water pollution and usage of coffee pulp as organic fertilizer. Growers are becoming more sophisticated because their production is segmented into 3 categories: by region; by varieties and by time of harvest.
Guatemala being the number 7 in terms of worldwide green coffee exports is an important country for the international coffee trade.
These new trends could eventually be applied to both Central and South America.
